Project Manager (Civil) – QLD

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a highly motivated and dedicated Project Manager to join our Projects Team, to deliver a range of civil projects at project sites across Qld. Applicants must have previous experience with the following:

  • Maintain project schedule, utilising Microsoft Project
  • Manage project resources
  • Ensure all quality, environmental, safety and other regulatory requirements of the project are fulfilled
  • Track costs and manage budget allocation, including providing input into costings for further works
  • Provide leadership and support to the Project Team
  • Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Provide updates/reports to client as required as well as WGQ town office
  • Maintain project documentation and complete project close-out

This position requires a formal qualification in Project Management; additionally, engineering qualifications would be advantageous. Applicants must have a civil construction background, including ideally 5 or more years’ experience in project management. Supervisory qualifications, current Standard 11 Surface Generic Mining Induction, Coal Board Medical and Construction Industry Induction (White Card) are also required.

Ideally this would be a Mon-Fri based position; however, a flexible working arrangement may be negotiated with the successful applicant. We offer a competitive remuneration package including weekly pay, vehicle, mobile phone, laptop computer and accommodation. Mechanical Tradespeople (Diesel Fitters)

Mining Industry

We currently have several opportunities available for experienced and suitably qualified Mechanical Tradespeople (Diesel Fitters) to join our Town Workshop and Field Services teams in Blackwater, Central Qld.

In this role, you will maintain a diverse fleet of equipment, ranging from civil and mining heavy mobile equipment through to light vehicles, and ancillary equipment.


Civil Estimator

We currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated Civil Estimator join our busy Projects Team on a permanent full-time basis. The position incumbent will have relevant experience working within the civil/mining sector


Civil Operators (Casual)

We currently have a number of opportunities available for experienced and suitably skilled Civil Equipment Operators for casual civil works at a variety of work sites in Central Qld-locations may include Blackwater, Mt Morgan and Capella.

Applicants must have the following:

  • Civil equipment operating experience (with RII qualifications preferred) e.g. excavator up to 40t; grader; dozer; moxy, loader, etc.
  • Trimble GPS experience and final trim (advantageous)
  • Also seeking applicants with relevant civil labouring experience & related skills, e.g. roller.
  • Current HR class driver’s licence (preferred)
  • Current Standard 11 Surface Generic Mining Induction and Coal Board Medical
  • Current Construction Industry Induction (White Card)

These roles would suit CQ-locals or those willing to DIDO. Note: these roles are not FIFO. Camp accommodation is available. Competitive flat hourly rates of pay on offer. 12-hour shifts, dayshift only.

Construction Surveyor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated Construction Surveyor to join our Projects Division on permanent full-time basis, based in Central Qld, working across multiple job sites.

  • Roster by negotiation-e.g. 7:7; Mon-Fri; 10:4, etc.
  • Role is DIDO (not FIFO)
  • Competitive remuneration on offer as well as vehicle, mobile phone and laptop + camp accommodation provided or accommodation subsidy
  • Applicants must have a current Standard 11 Surface Generic Mining Induction & Coal Board Medical (or ability to rapidly obtain) as well as a current driver’s licence (mandatory)

To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, including the following:

  • Site construction survey – including setting up base stations; carrying out spot checks and pre-conformance checks on prepared surfaces; carrying out machine bench checks; and assisting in machine calibration and diagnosing GPS issues, check control, setting up repeater stations.
  • Identify potential hold points for conformance pick ups and liaise with the Site Supervisor and operators to ensure conformance pick-ups are carried out as necessary.
  • Read and understand construction drawings and technical specifications, carry out volume reports, prepare data for survey as required; have a good understanding of work orders and point codes.
  • CAD design – Basic model adjustments, cleaning up design strings, creating GSC900 files and earthworks files (would be highly -regarded; however not essential).
  • Uploading machine files into equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with site personnel and has a positive can do attitude.
